One of the most interesting things.
And i have a never ending urge to find out where all the small & beautiful creatures are hiding, looking for bees and flies in blooming flowers. Using different techniques to bring out the best of the subject i´m photogrphing. It´s not so much about the surrounding, it´s getting the viewer a certain feel, that it´s almost touchable. It doesen´t aqquire too much photoshopping, only good knowledge of your camera, the technique. I´m not saying photoshopping is bad, maybe a bit unnecessary most of the times, but by exploitin your own camera-knowhow it´s much more rewarding getting fab pics.
So, you need to make your camera work so that the pic eventually appears the way you see it. Let´s simplify it. The camera doesen´t always know how you want your picture to be, when u shoot on auto, the camera measures the light and eveything else, and the pic might not come out at all the way you wanted it to. You need to adjust a variety of setting, depending on light and how much you want to fool the camera. A good example, taking pics of a beautiful sunset get´s even more fabulous by stelaing some light from the camera, by reducing the exposure time.
An SLR camera is an very advanced small package of a whole lot of fantastic functions, waiting for you to get to them, learn and make progress in becoming a better photographer in every field of photography. Go ahead, dare to try different settings, get out of the safety zone, which for many unfortunately is the automatic setting. I think it´s pure stupidity buying and expensive slr and not bothering to learn how to use all the different settings and possibilities it offers. The internet is full of knowledge and tips how to become better and how to learn. Feel free to try. Read the manual, study interesting pics, and once you realize you have an amazing tool, you can be as good as anybody ! And your pics will be amazing, trust me 🙂
